So I made this because of this.
Feel free to use if you are planning on seducing a writer. Or writer-like person. Or anyone, really.
I thought, I wonder if anyone’s made one, yet. So I looked, and there it was. I love it when things move at the speed of internet.

A Public Service Announcement
birdartpoetry asked: Mister Gaiman, you’re kickass. I was just wondering, what do you think is the best way to seduce a writer? I figured your answer would be pretty spectacular.
In my experience, writers tend to be really good at the inside of their own heads and imaginary people,…

Not paying attention in class…or ever, really
So, I’m at the cash register at the bookshop. It’s a holiday weekend, so there have been a lot of students - college and high school - in the shop. It’s early evening, and I can see a number of them milling across from me in the Fiction room. A guy, early college age, leaves his female companion and comes over to me.
Guy: Hi, uh, we’re looking for Siddhartha, by William Shakespeare?
Me: … Well, Siddhartha’s actually by Herman Hesse. And we should have it, over on that wall you were looking at, under Hesse.
Guy: (Face lights up) Oh! Right, thank you.
Guy goes back over to girl. They stay in the exact same section, scanning the same segment of shelves - the ones for authors in the B-C range. After a while:
Guy: (Catches my eye, across the room, and calls out) We still can’t find it!
Me: ….It’s there. Just go farther down…Keep going…Little farther…Look down…Bottom shelf…
Guy: Found it!
Me: …Great.

Here’s a tip for the do-it-yourself crowd: Go to your computer’s Start menu, and either go to “run” or just search for “cmd.” Open it up, and type in “ping [website address],” like so:

Once you have the IP for a website, all you really need to do is enter it like you would a normal URL and hit enter/press go. Typing in “208.85.240.231” should bring you to the front page of AO3, for example, just as typing “174.121.194.34/dashboard” should bring you straight to your Tumblr dashboard. Since we’re obviously bracing for the worst case scenario which would involve you not being able to access Tumblr regularly, you should, like, save this list, I guess.

Teenage Batman Told To Stop Catching Pedophiles
I can understand the authorities’ point… But it still always seems counter productive/intuitive for someone to shut down people trying to good, rather than trying to help them or work with them. Maybe it’s just because I read comic books. :P
